WHO IS SUITABLE FOR THIS COURSE?
This course is suitable for dogs that have done some basic training, such as puppy class, and are 6 months or above. ( If your dog has not had puppy / basic training then please look at the Puppy/ Novice group).
This is an exclusive small group of 4 dogs with max two people with each dog to allow enough space and individual support.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS COURSE
At this level we will work to make behaviour and skills more reliable in everyday situations, including when there are distractions about. We continue to do so through motivational training techniques. We have some fun in this course interspersing the normal training skills with a mix of exercises such as obstacles and scent work.
WHAT YOUR DOG WILL LEARN
- How to switch from excitement to calmness.
- Relaxed lead walking with distractions about.
- How to still respond when emotionally aroused.
- Recall away from distractions such as dogs, food, toys and people
- Heeling with good focus.
- That paying attention and staying close is a whole heap of fun.
- Stay progression.
- Send outs and back.
- Retrieving
- Have a go at basic agility exercises for fun.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
You will learn dog training methods to suit your dog to enhance focus and desire to work with you. You will learn how to implement a calmness protocol and how to help your dog by avoiding overfilling their stress bucket. You will learn how to enrich your dog's life to prevent boredom and behaviour issues.
If your dog is not quite at this stage, one or two private sessions can be arranged to prepare you for this dog class.
