WHY DO GUN-DOG TRAINING WITH YOUR PET DOG
Gun-dogs are active dogs and can often get a bit bored and frustrated unless their minds are worked. Gun-dog training is a great way to stimulate your dog in the right way for the breed type, whilst also improving useful general skills as well as the bond between you and your dog.
INDOOR GUN-DOG COURSE KETTS HALL
This indoor 4-week course you will teach you and your dog the basic skills that underpin gun-dog work in a less challenging environment and is run over the darker/colder months.
We work on steadiness, correct line up and send out, delivering a retrieve back to hand, direction training and whistle recall.
Many of these skills are also useful for other type of dogs, so I welcome other breeds too.
GUN-DOG COURSE WAGDALE, BARNHAM BROOM
This is a six-week course in an enclosed field that is open to people who have done basic general training. Prior Gun-Dog training is not required. This course is only available in spring/summer.
We have time to cover a bit more than in the 4-week indoor course. We will introduce your dog to send-outs, direction training, stop whistle, retrieves, recalls and some hunting skills for the spaniels.
